Labor laws apply equally to first protect children, often working long hours for very long in the harsh conditions. New England passed the first law regulating the use of child labor in 1832. century later labor laws recently formed to level the playing field between individual unions and employers, and then in the mid-1930s to more clearly draw the line between right and wrong when it comes to the relationship between employer and employee. Employment law continues to evolve, addressing working women's rights, minorities and those who march to a different beat when it comes to sexual preference or religious freedom. Today is labor law defines employment rights of those who enter our country illegally and what, if any, should be given the protection they and their children. 

Without the men and women who have been so brave voice, and who continue to express their concerns and speak up for protection, work place we are today can be very different. Can you imagine your children work in factories 12 or more hours a day and not given the opportunity to go to be educated, to play sports or just 'a child'? Can you even picture how she has for you to grow in a world where the norm? How many of you have been protected by labor laws without knowing it? 

World we are in a constant state of change and as a new frontier to be explored and new ways of doing business are introduced, we may find the need for labor laws new and improved, as we will not doubt have a need for definition wider existing law. As the economic future lies and dictate, we can see a tougher law to decide the acceptable age for employment and retirement. Your future, or future grandchildren and great grandchildren, perhaps even require a new law governing the work under the sea or in the room. Can you imagine?
